They hurry to be at their workplace on time
The gods watch them all and wait with their rods
If the subjects are quiet, gods feel mighty and fine
The first god's the mayor, who knows how to rule
he is followed by chiefs and industrial heads
some officials and some principals of a school
They're proud of themselves, so they clap their hands
There is only one problem in the city of gods
in the ages of science we know
that the concept of gods might be just a legend
we all can see where the winds blow
Poor, poor, you tiny poor gods
Poor, so poor, don't wait for our nods
The mayor insists we are lazy, not fine
At least we should work as much as he does
He is keeping his weight with plenty of wine
He is working so hard by stemming the glass
There is only one problem in the city of gods..
Everything could be so easy,
if prudence was all around
Empathy, esteem, to behave with respect
more often should be found
Gods ignore that in fact they do not exist
One advice is: From being gods they should desist
When the principal thinks that he can screw you
by cutting the lock of your bicycle through
Then give him a chance to make it all up
But if he still breaks the law then you can screw him, too

I wake up though it's dark outside
I get up for the day
I try to keep a dream that fades away.
The morning news are ominous
some fools are all around
The haunting music helps to blend them out
And then I start to do the work I've got to do today
And I pretend that I'm on a straight way
But secretly I flee back to my dreams
I walk the streets, the city's cold
The faces pass me by
I see the world through a weary eye.
The chatter fills the empty space
The noise is all around
But in my mind, there's a softer sound.
And as I move, I feel the weight of all the yesterdays
But in my heart, I know I'll find my way

And in the quiet of the night
I find my calming peace
A moment's breath, a warm and sweet release
The world outside fades to a song
And in my dreams I see
Where I can go and where I do belong.
The evening falls, the sky turns grey
